The purpose of the Building Law is to regulate the essential aspects of the specific building process. What are the basic building requirements?

We know that the law protects the safety of people, knowing that the welfare of society and the environment are basic to the quality of life. That is why the basic requirements in the building law, whether in maintenance, conservation, project or construction, are existing and we can divide them into three categories, the requirements related to functionality, those related to safety, and those related to habitability.

The first, basic requirements that must be met are those related to functionality, since, for example, the layout and dimensions of the spaces and the provision of facilities must facilitate the functions for which the building was designed.

Secondly, we find the basic requirements related to safety, when performing activities to comply with the law of building management, the agents involved must meet the basic requirements to safety, for example, structural safety, in order to prevent damage affecting the foundation, the added beams, forged supports or load-bearing walls. Another safety requirement is, for example, safety in the event of fire and in the event of use, in order to achieve optimum conditions for the normal use of the building and to avoid foreseeable accidents.
